VIM no longer supported

"We will no longer support Vim" declared Braam Mooleenar, main developer of Vim.
Vim is an open-source text-editor whose code source was published in 1991. Braam Moolenaar and the main contributors of the project have decided to stop developing it as they think it has become too obsolete. They say they want to start working on a new project based on the most renowned and well-spread text editors such as NetBeans and Eclipse.
"It has come clear to us that our approach must change. We cannot keep working on terminal-like interfaces as if we were stuck in the 80s. Technology has evolved and we truly think that we should aim at something more graphic, something more intuitive to grant users a much more efficient experience of coding."
Vim amateurs can still access their favorite text-editor available on all platforms but they should not expect any more improvement soon. Unless a community of passionates decides to carry the torch.
